The Société d'histoire de Joliette-De Lanaudière began its activities in 1929. Its mission is to acquire, process, preserve and disseminate its archives relating to the history of the MRCs of Joliette, Matawinie and Autray. Since 2018, the Society has been a BAnQ-accredited private archive.
Housed in a 1908 building that once housed the Régiment de Joliette, the Society's mission is to preserve the history and memory of northern Lanaudière. The society offers its members and the public research assistance, conferences, exhibitions, publications, lectures, cultural outings and much more.
