August 11, 2025

The start of the school year is already fast approaching! We've found 10 activities to do in Lanaudière with the whole family before the summer vacation ends.

Discover the activities that will help you make the most of the end of the vacations.

1. Bathing at the beach

The Rawdon Municipal Beach, with its shallow waters, is perfect for families with young children. The little ones can cool off and have fun building beautiful sandcastles all day long. Bring your lunch and enjoy your day! You’ll also have the option to rent boats on-site from the company À la dérive. Lanaudière has many beaches. 2. Cycling on a 154 km bike path

Take the whole family on a two-wheeled adventure! The véloroute des Moulins offers 154 km of cycling path stretching from Terrebonne to Mascouche. The route will keep you on the banks of the Rivière des Mille-Îles for longer, passing through Île-des-Moulins and Vieux-Terrebonne. Plan your day with the tourist map, which includes cycling routes.

In the Terrebonne and Mascouche area, there are many other alternatives. If you like off-road cycling, you'll love the TransTerrebonne. You'll discover wooded areas far from the city. Alternatively, take La Seigneurie des Plaines, a 21-km cycling circuit that links the TransTerrebonne to the P'tit train du Nord trail.

3. Water slides, magic castle, haunted house and zoo

Complexe Atlantide is located 40 minutes from Montreal, in Saint-Calixte. Here, people of all ages can have fun on the water slides. What makes the Atlantide Complex unique is its impressive range of activities. In addition to the slides, there’s a magical castle to explore. Kids (and adults) can marvel at a magical world where you’ll meet princesses and pirates. And don’t forget the Familizoo, home to over 300 animals and serving as a sanctuary. If you’d like to extend your stay by adding an overnight stay, check out the Hôtel de la cité perdue and experience sleeping with the lions!

* Please note that the water park will be closed from August 24 to 28. The official end of the season will be on August 30.
