Terrebonne and Mascouche have nothing to envy the metropolis: vibrant cities of history and culture, these two towns are an urban destination to visit this summer. Located in the south-west of the region, people first travel through these two towns in the MRC des Moulins to get to the north of the region.
Here's an itinerary to discover the urban destination of Terrebonne and Mascouche, which is worth a stopover for a few days.
DAY 1
You can't visit Terrebonne without stopping in Île-des-Moulins. Located in the heart of Vieux-Terrebonne, this historic site is the perfect place to stroll along the waterfront and discover its heritage buildings. It's also the perfect place to enjoy POP ton été, the largest FREE music festival on Montreal's North Shore.
Vieux-Terrebonne also offers historical and heritage tours for history buffs in search of new knowledge.
After all this learning, we suggest you head to Mascouche to visit the Moore Garden. This garden is simply gorgeous. You'll enjoy getting lost in the flowers and peaceful landscaping. Sustainable gardening practices are encouraged. Resting, viewing and picnic areas await you on the banks of the Mascouche River. Cultural and artistic activities, such as exhibits and performances, enliven the garden's programming.
DAY 2
Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the many outdoor activities available in Terrebonne and Mascouche. After a day of exploring local history, take advantage of your second day in the destination to discover it from a different perspective. There are many biking trails in the area. The TransTerrebonne road circuit crosses the Vieux-Terrebonne and joins the Véloroute des Moulins, which in turn covers more than 150 km, passing by many of the region's must-see sites. There is also an urban cycle route of over 60 km that follows the local rivers and streams through the city.
Groupe Plein Air Terrebonne offers a wide range of outdoor activities throughout the year. In the summer, you can rent a boat and discover the Mille-Îles River. On the water, you'll feel far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and you'll see many species of birds and ducks. Fans of disc golf, an increasingly popular sport, will be pleased to know that nine baskets are available. Archery targets and a GPS rally are also available on site.
DAY 3
If the weather doesn't cooperate for outdoor sports during your visit, there are plenty of options. Bloc Action is an indoor bouldering center. This brand new activity allows you to push your limits or learn about this increasingly popular form of climbing. Nearby, Laser Action invites you to experience the adrenaline and thrill of its missions. This real-life adventure game can accommodate up to 36 players who will share a thrilling battle. Fun and entertainment are guaranteed!
Is the warm weather back? Enjoy a round of golf at Golf Le Versant, Canada's largest golf complex. Finish off your last day at one of the local microbreweries. We recommend the locally brewed beers at the Ruisseau Noir microbrewery or the Albatros, where the patio is magnificent!
