Rawdon is a charming municipality that is well worth exploring. If you are looking for a memorable outdoor experience in winter, Rawdon offers everything you need for an unforgettable winter getaway. Its diverse activities and wide range of accommodations make it the perfect destination for a few days of relaxation or adventure.
Get ready to discover everything Rawdon has to offer with this suggested itinerary.
DAY 1
We start with a visit to Forêt Ô Cascades, a four-season ecotourism park with 12 km of hiking trails. In winter, the trails are groomed, so you can walk on them in boots. You can also go fat biking and skating on the illuminated trail.
Lake Rawdon is perfect for skating or snowshoeing at your own pace, while the Tournée des Cantons, a network of eco-friendly trails reserved for non-motorized sports, is the ideal place for forest hikes. You can also go cross-country skiing or fat biking.

End your first day with a breathtaking visit to the majestic Dorwin Falls, which rise to an impressive height of 18 meters in the park of the same name. It's also the perfect opportunity to explore the 3 kilometers of hiking trails and admire this natural spectacle. You can also skate and walk on the specially designed and lit trail throughout the winter.
Want to stay the night? The Rawdon Golf Resort welcomes couples, families, and groups of friends in one of its modern and cozy rooms offering impeccable comfort. You can also grab a bite to eat at the adjacent restaurant, Le Gordie's. Prefer a cottage? Chalets Lanaudière has cottages for small and large groups, and even yurts and small cabins for an immersive nature experience.
If you prefer experiential accommodations, Refuge Fristad, Ma Yourte au coeur des collines, or Les Pieds sur Terre could be excellent options.

DAY 2
Start the day with a good cup of coffee at Chez Lucien before heading to Saint-Calixte to visit Familizoo, which remains open even during the winter season. You'll be amazed by the sight of lions among the snowflakes. Just put on your warm clothes and come visit these incredible animals that brave the harsh cold weather.
Next, stop at Terre des Bisons. This park opens the doors to a captivating world dedicated to big game. Explore their specially marked snowshoe trails to get closer to the enclosures of impressive bison and graceful elk. You'll even have the opportunity to leave with delicious cuts of meat to enhance your future meals at home!
Kinadapt is also a destination of choice for those who have always dreamed of dog sledding. You can learn the art of becoming a pack leader with their huskies, or let them guide you through nature, whether in broad daylight or under the moonlight. This experience is a perfect way to appreciate the beauty of the region's snow-covered trees.

Don't miss the chance to visit the brand new Kilkenny Regional Park, a natural space dedicated to conservation, education, and recreation. The park offers a wide variety of hiking trails for all levels, winding through a mosaic of natural landscapes. Along the way, you can admire spectacular views and observe the local flora and fauna. When winter arrives, these same trails are transformed into the perfect playground for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and Nordic skiing enthusiasts.
End the day with a delicious meal at one of the local restaurants, such as La Queen or Le Privilège.
DAY 3
To end this getaway in the Rawdon area on a high note, we have two suggestions. The first is to spend the day at Ski Montcalm, hitting the slopes and enjoying the beautiful powder snow. With 26 trails spread over four hillsides, this ski resort warmly welcomes skiers of all levels. Don't miss the covered magic carpet, ideal for beginners, and enjoy family skiing on the snowy slopes.
The second suggestion is much more relaxing, as we invite you to spend the day at La Source Bains Nordiques. This spa enjoys an unquestionable reputation as the ultimate place to revitalize your mind and body. Nestled in the mountains, the atmosphere is simply magical, bathed in natural light. The pools, harmoniously integrated into their natural environment, will offer you total escape for a few precious hours.

Before hitting the road again, take the opportunity to stop at Fromagerie Roy, renowned for its cheese curds, to stock up on supplies and bring some treats home.
If you're visiting between March 13 and 15, 2025, don't miss the Saint Patrick's Day Festival, a must-see event in the town of Rawdon. Parades, shows, special activities...there's everything you need to immerse yourself in the Irish atmosphere.
