1. Mont Sourire | Saint-Donat
This trail becomes magical under its white coat. The overlook is easily accessible, just a 1 km walk from the parking lot. With stunning views of the surrounding mountains and icy lake, it's the perfect spot for a snowshoeing excursion with family or friends.
2. Parc régional de la Chute-à-Bull | Saint-Côme
Discover the famous Chute-à-Bull in all its icy glory! The easily accessible trail winds through a snowy forest before reaching the waterfall, which freezes into a magnificent ice sculpture. A longer hike takes you to the summit hut, where the views of the surrounding mountains are spectacular.
3. Parc régional des Chutes Monte-à-Peine-et-des-Dalles | Saint-Jean-de-Matha
In winter, the Monte-à-Peine-et-des-Dalles waterfalls offer a breathtaking spectacle of partially frozen cascades and snow-covered walls. There are three entrances to the site: Saint-Jean-de-Matha, Sainte-Mélanie and Sainte-Béatrix. In summer, the site is a place to cool off, but in winter, a magical atmosphere awaits you, when the contrasts of ice and moving water create a breathtaking panorama. There are a dozen kilometers of trails to choose from, stretching for almost 5 km along the snow-covered banks of the Rivière L'Assomption. Three bridges cross the river, offering exceptional views of waterfalls and cascades frozen in the winter cold. Dogs are always welcome, to the delight of outdoor enthusiasts accompanied by their four-legged friends.
4. Parc régional de la Forêt Ouareau | Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci
With several trails offering a variety of views, this park is a must for winter hiking enthusiasts. Take the time to admire the tranquility of nature in winter. Trails offer greater challenges, but hikers looking for a moderate hike will appreciate the Belvédère de la Croix, in the Massif sector. The 2.5km loop has a 100m drop, making it accessible to the whole family.
5. Parc régional des Chutes Dorwin | Rawdon
Easily accessible, this trail offers breathtaking views of the partially frozen Dorwin Falls. The contrast of ice and moving water creates a unique panorama. There is also an ice skating trail at the same location. So you can do two activities in one place.
