We tried Château Joliette: here's what we loved about it

October 19, 2026

Sometimes it’s the smallest gestures that leave the fondest memories. That’s what particularly charmed us during our stay at Château Joliette. Behind its comfortable rooms and gourmet restaurant lies a thoughtful staff that knows how to make a simple night at the hotel even more enjoyable.

Located right in the heart of downtown Joliette, this hotel in Lanaudière is a wonderful place to treat yourself to a short getaway and enjoy a stay where every detail is designed with your comfort in mind.

All the comfort you need for a good night's rest

As soon as we arrived at Château Joliette, we were greeted by a smiling and friendly staff, a first impression that immediately set the tone for our stay.

We settled into the Signature rooms, which offer as an added bonus, a magnificent view of the L’Assomption River. The room was tastefully decorated, had a warm atmosphere, and above all, was very comfortable.

We especially loved our cozy beds, where we lingered for a while and could easily have spent a few more hours the next morning. The room also features several little amenities that make the stay even more enjoyable: bathrobes provided, a Nespresso coffee machine with capsules, a TV, and even an armchair perfect for curling up with a good book.

We can easily imagine starting the day with a cup of coffee while admiring the view of the river, or ending the evening comfortably settled into the armchair.

Everything is in place to fully enjoy your room, without having to rush from one activity to the next.

A newly renovated junior suite to discover

For those looking to treat themselves to even more comfort, Château Joliette also offers a newly renovated junior suite. It’s another great option to consider for a romantic getaway or simply to pamper yourself during a stay in Joliette.

Although we stayed in a Signature room, this new option is definitely worth considering for our next visit.

Small, personalized touches that make all the difference

In the evening, as we were quietly enjoying the comfort of our room, a staff member knocked on our door to deliver a lovely little tray.

Inside, we found two herbal teas, a few chocolates, earplugs, and eye masks. A simple invitation to slow down and enjoy a good night’s sleep.

We found this gesture particularly thoughtful!

Because, deep down, it’s often these little gestures that make all the difference when staying at a hotel. Of course, we appreciate a beautiful room and a comfortable bed, but when a team takes the time to add small, personalized touches to our experience, it makes the stay even more enjoyable.

That’s actually what charmed us the most about the Hôtel Château Joliette: the quality of the service and the attention to detail. From the welcome at the front desk to the restaurant staff, we sensed a genuine desire to make our stay memorable.

We also really enjoyed exploring Château Joliette at dusk. With its pretty lights, the hotel takes on a whole new look in the evening! We took the opportunity to take a short stroll along the nearby illuminated path, which added a touch of charm to our night walk. And when we saw the hotel’s beautiful, lit-up terrace, we thought it must be especially pleasant on gentle summer evenings. A great reason to come back!

A delicious dinner at the Table G restaurant

The Château Joliette experience wouldn't be complete without a stop at its restaurant, Table G. And what a treat to be able to enjoy an excellent meal right there on the premises, without having to get back in the car!

As for the menu, we were tempted by a flavourful tuna tartare and a magnificent plate of pan-seared cod. Both choices more than lived up to our expectations, and to round out the meal, we opted for two delicious mocktails, as refreshing as they were tasty. Wine lovers won’t be disappointed either, as the restaurant also offers an impressive wine list with an interesting selection to pair with the various dishes on the menu.

Another great feature of the restaurant: its menu is “Goûtez Lanaudière” certified and showcases several local products. It’s a wonderful way to discover the flavours of the region and give Lanaudière producers a place on your plate.

We really appreciated the quality of the cuisine, the flavours, and the presentation of the dishes. All of this took place in a pleasant atmosphere, with attentive service that perfectly complemented the experience we’d been enjoying since our arrival.

A wonderful culinary discovery that certainly deserves its place among the best restaurants to try in Joliette, whether you’re staying at the hotel or not.

A hearty breakfast buffet to start the day

After a very restful night’s sleep, we headed to the restaurant to enjoy the breakfast buffet.

The buffet is varied, comprehensive, and generous. There’s something for every taste and appetite, whether you prefer to eat light or treat yourself to a copious breakfast before starting the day.

We especially appreciated being able to take our time, savour our coffee, and soak up the hotel’s atmosphere a little longer before hitting the road again.

An ideal location for exploring downtown Joliette

Another advantage of Château Joliette, and by no means the least, is its location.

The hotel is located right in downtown Joliette, along the banks of the L'Assomption River, in an area that’s pleasant to explore on foot.

Right across from the hotel is the Joliette Art Museum, a must-see for culture lovers. The Desjardins Cultural Center, which offers a varied lineup of shows throughout the year, is also nearby.

For those who enjoy discovering new dining spots, there are also several restaurants and cafés in the area. This makes it easy to combine a night at the hotel with a good cup of coffee, a cultural outing, or dinner downtown.

Not to mention the L'Assomption River and its magnificent views, which add a lot of charm to the area.

That’s what makes Château Joliette particularly appealing for a getaway in Lanaudière: you can enjoy a comfortable stay while having a wealth of options just steps from your room.

Château Joliette: An Experience Where Every Detail Matters

What stands out most from our stay at Château Joliette is, above all, the feeling of having been welcomed with such care.

Of course, we loved our Signature room with a view of the river, our delicious dinner at Table G, and the generous breakfast the next morning, but it was especially the little gestures, the smiles, and the kindness of the staff that left a lasting impression on us.

The little tray left in our room in the evening is a perfect example.

It was a simple gesture, but one that perfectly sums up our experience: at Château Joliette, they take care of their guests down to the smallest details.

A wonderful place to keep in mind for a future romantic getaway, a gourmet outing, or simply to discover Joliette in a whole new way.
