The Lanaudière Festival: the region’s must-see summer music event

June 03, 2026

Every summer, the Lanaudière Festival invites visitors to enjoy an experience where classical music is presented in a new light, in a setting that breaks away from the usual confines of concert halls.

Since its inception in 1978, this event has established itself as a must-see in North America. It attracts internationally renowned artists and also showcases local talent, fostering a rich dialogue between different musical cultures. This blend of artistic excellence and accessibility makes the festival a special opportunity to discover or rediscover classical music.
From July 3 to August 2, the region becomes the setting for a major cultural event where music takes center stage and invites you to experience unforgettable moments.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE LANAUDIÈRE FESTIVAL

One of the festival’s major attractions is its setting. The Fernand-Lindsay Amphitheater in Joliette offers an exceptional venue for outdoor music performances. This location helps create a unique atmosphere, both grand and intimate, where every concert becomes an immersive experience.

Beyond this iconic site, the festival extends throughout the region. Concerts take place in various churches and cultural venues, as well as in more unexpected spaces such as agritourism sites. This diversity of venues offers multiple ways to experience music and discover the region from a new perspective.

Each edition features a rich and varied program spanning several weeks. Audiences can attend numerous concerts featuring renowned orchestras, soloists, and ensembles. The event is not just for classical music enthusiasts; it is also open to those seeking their first experience or simply looking to enjoy an accessible and unifying cultural moment.
