Mont-Brassard Trail

The Mont Brassard Loop brings together several of the Sept-Chutes Regional Park’s signature landscapes in a hike of less than 6 km. Right from the start, the trail runs along the Noire River and passes near the Voile de la Mariée before reaching Little Guy Lake. It is from there that the ascent to Mont Brassard truly begins.

The trail then gains elevation as it winds through various forest habitats, including a red pine forest and a black spruce forest. On the rocky ridges, the views open up. From the lookout points, you can see Lac Rémi, the Noire River valley, and the hills surrounding Saint-Zénon.

The distance is relatively short, but the 410 m of elevation gain requires sustained effort. The terrain and certain rocky sections better explain the trail’s difficulty than the number of kilometers alone.

The loop eventually leads back to the visitor center area. With its waterfall, lakes, forests, and numerous elevated viewpoints, Mont Brassard is particularly well-suited for hikers looking for a hike in the Lanaudière region where the scenery changes frequently along the way.

Access to the trail:

The trailhead is located at the Sept-Chutes Regional Park visitor center, at 4031 Chemin Brassard Sud in Saint-Zénon. The parking lot is located near coordinates 46.4681, -73.7204 and has approximately 50 spaces. When the visitor center is closed, the parking fee can be paid online or at the parking meter.
