The village of Saint-Cléophas-de-Brandon is nestled in the Bayonne River valley, in a landscape dotted with hills and plains. During your visit, you'll notice a typical Quebec street village, with houses lined up along the road. In 1888, the first convoy of passengers and visitors travelled from Montreal to Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon by train. In Saint-Cléophas-de-Brandon, a sort of "shack" was built to serve as the station. It wasn't until 1915 that the new, larger station was built to meet the needs of train commuters. Thirty years later, rail service was discontinued.
