A Halloween event to discover at the Repentigny Cultural Center
October 16, 2026
As Halloween approaches, the Repentigny Cultural Center takes on a much more mysterious atmosphere. From October 17 to 31, 2026, its plaza will be transformed into the Museum of the Strange, an outdoor exhibition featuring art installations, mysterious creatures, legends, and fantasy elements that create an atmosphere inspired by cabinets of curiosities. The event is free and open to the general public.

If you’re looking for something to do for Halloween in Repentigny or a unique activity to add to your fall outings in Lanaudière, this is an event that deserves a spot on your calendar.
An outdoor tour filled with curiosities
Throughout the event, visitors will be able to freely explore the Museum of the Strange and discover various art installations. Among the featured exhibits: a painting that seems to follow visitors with its eyes, an animal skeleton made of bones, and a particularly lifelike scarecrow.
A “Search for the Strange” scavenger hunt will also be offered, for visitors to spot objects hidden along the route. This adds a fun little challenge that’s especially enjoyable with children.
And to extend the experience, the Café de l’étrange will offer a special menu featuring fall flavours.

Theatrical Tours to Immerse You Even Further in this World
On select dates, the tour will come to life through theatrical tours featuring unique characters. These tours, lasting about 30 minutes, will take place on October 17, 18, 24, and 25 at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 7 p.m.; on October 23 at 7 p.m.; and on October 30 at 7 p.m., 8 p.m., and 9 p.m. Registration is required to participate.
This is probably the best option if you want a more immersive experience rather than simply wandering through the exhibits at your own pace.

Explore the Art Center by Flashlight
On October 28, 29, and 30, visitors will also be able to explore the Diane-Dufresne Art Center’s new fall exhibitions by the light of a flashlight. Tours depart at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m., and registration is required.
It’s a rather unusual way to tour an exhibition, and an activity that fits perfectly with the Halloween spirit.

An Opening Reception to Kick Off the Event
The event will kick off on October 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with an opening reception. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the Museum of the Strange alongside the artists, unusual characters, and the production team. The event is open to everyone, but registration is required.

A Special Finale on October 31
To wrap up this Halloween program, a closing event will take place on October 31 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. An esoteric character will present the “Revelations of the Strange” using an oracle created especially for the Museum, and treats will be handed out on the way out. Be sure to mark your calendar before Halloween night and its traditional trick-or-treating!
