Whether you're on a road trip or just looking for a gourmet getaway, Lanaudière has plenty of places where you can sample artisanal ice creams, poutines, greasy fries and other local specialties.
These places are also gateways to the authenticity of the region, where every bite tells a story.
So, here's our list of crèmeries and snack bars to put on your next visit to the region.
OUR MEMBERS IN THE spotlight
First and foremost, we'd like to highlight the member companies of Tourisme Lanaudière. These are among the region's must-sees, and deserve a special place in this directory.
As for crèmeries, Choco Chocolat is a must-stop on your next visit to Joliette. Renowned for its hand-crafted chocolates, this chocolate shop also offers delicious frozen treats during the summer season. Their artisanal soft-serve ice cream changes flavor almost weekly, and is a joy to discover every time.
The Glace Nature crèmerie, also in Joliette, offers products made with no artificial additives, flavoring or coloring, highlighting local Lanaudière products like camerise, among others. New flavors are also created every week, and it's fascinating to be able to taste Lanaudière even in an ice cream!
Cabane à sucre Côte-à-Joly, located in Saint-Jean-de-Matha, is also an excellent choice and very popular with ice cream enthusiasts. Grandfathers in syrup, S'mores waffle cones, crunchy caramel and chocolate swirls... these are just a few examples of what you'll find on their completely decadent menu.
Aux Fruits du Soleil is a fruit and vegetable stand located in Saint-Jacques, where you'll also find a delicious creamery brimming with choices: homemade ice cream sandwiches, ice cream cakes and even...dog treats!
When it comes to snacks, we can't leave out Le Spot à poutine, located in Rawdon. While you're there, order one of their delicious poutines and enjoy it while admiring the Dorwin Falls just beyond.
La Bine, located in Mascouche, offers the perfect menu for an on-the-go stop during the summer season. Fried chicken sandwich, ham grilled-cheese, bacon Mac'n cheese and more! You can also chill out in the specially converted barn.
If you're passing through Joliette, Chez Henri is a must. We go there to enjoy their famous Mammouth burger, poutine or pizza.
Even if it's more of a restaurant than a snack bar, we have to include TABOO cuisine rebelle, located in l'Assomption, which offers no less than 17 kinds of poutine and even more varieties of hamburger.
