L’Envol Trail

The Envol Trail quickly gains elevation in the Pimbina-Saint-Donat sector of Mont-Tremblant National Park and offers a short but strenuous hike.

The ascent takes place mainly in the forest, through a maple-yellow birch grove characteristic of the park’s mountainous habitats. The trail also serves as an educational journey, with an interpretive brochure available at the trailhead to help you learn more about this natural environment.

At the summit of Mont de l’Envol, located at an elevation of approximately 621 m, a lookout offers panoramic views of the Pimbina Valley. You can see Lajoie and Provost lakes, as well as the mountains surrounding Saint-Donat. After enjoying the view, you return to the parking lot via the same trail.

With its steep ascent concentrated over a short distance, L’Envol requires more effort than its distance might suggest. Sépaq classifies it as an intermediate hike. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a hike in Lanaudière that combines a real mountain climb, unobstructed views, and a route that can be completed in less than half a day.

The trailhead is located in the Pimbina-Saint-Donat sector of Mont-Tremblant National Park. Use the Envol parking lot, located on the park road about 400 m north of the Pimbina visitor center. The current information sheet from Tourisme Lanaudière places the trailhead near the coordinates 46.399766, -74.269271.
