At the summit of Montagne Noire lies a moving historical site: the crash site of Liberator Harry, a Royal Canadian Air Force B-24-D bomber that fell on return from a mission during the Second World War.
Accessible via a nature trail, this commemorative site invites you to a moment of meditation and discovery. Remains of the aircraft bear witness to the event and recall the courage of the twenty soldiers and 4 crew members who lost their lives in this tragic accident. Interpretation panels on site provide a better understanding of the historical context and the importance of preserving this place of remembrance.
A must for history buffs and hikers alike.
