Place of birth of the famous architect and sculptor Victor Bourgeau, the city of Lavaltrie preciously preserves a rich architectural heritage. It is in this village, a neighbor of his home town (Lanoraie), that the writer and journalist Honoré-Beaugrand chose to make his famous tale, La Chasse-galerie, take place.
