Museum of Chapelle des Cuthbert

The Cuthbert Chapel Museum is a true crossroads of encounters and reflection where contemporary and current artistic practices are put forward in a unique patrimonial environment in Quebec. It presents visual arts exhibitions, contemporary dance, landscape and environmental art as well as concerts.
The Cuthbert Chapel is the oldest Protestant chapel built in Quebec. It was Lord James Cuthbert who, after the death of his wife Catherine Cairns, had it built to bury his remains and those of his daughter Caroline, as the Berthier seigneury had no Protestant cemetery at the time. It was built in 1786 by the master mason Antoine Leblanc, from Maskinongé.
