Abbaye Val Notre-Dame is located at the foot of the Montagne Coupee on a wooded plateau overlooking the river L’Assomption in Saint-Jean-de-Matha. It houses since 2009, a community of 24 Cistercian monks from Oka, 128 years after founding the Abbey of Bellefontaine (France).

The monks live their work: production of fruit cake, caramel, peanut butter and fine chocolates offered at the Abbey Shop. A walk a kilometer from the store then gave to discover the simple and modern architecture of the Abbey. The monks celebrate Mass and seven daily prayers in their church always open to everyone from 4h to 20h.
