Bonsaï Gros-Bec is a prime tourist attraction offering visitors a permanent exhibition of bonsai trees in a natural setting on a wooded promontory overlooking Lac Marchand in Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez. Come enjoy the esthetic experience of seeing these lovely miniature trees displayed on a rocky cape with panoramic views.

Robert will welcome you and explain the wonderful story of the bonsai and the penjing. Robert Smith studied bonsai with the master-horticulturalist Andolfo d’Italie www.andolfo.it for 5 years, and is now a graduate of École Michele Andolfo in Québec, Grade 2 as well as Instructor Level 1. Fourteen years ago, he founded the Société de bonsaï & de penjing du Québec www.bonsaiduquebec.com which has more than 200 members.

A place of education and discoveries, our site combines all the elements to give visitors a unique and unforgettable experience. Interpretation centre and exhibition on the art of Japanese bonsai and Chinese penjing. Courses, sales and shop open year-round.

Schedule: Garden tours from May to October, Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm.
